Instrument Insurance
I am looking for the best place to insure my collection of instruments. All of these years, and I’ve never insured them. What are some recommendations?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Instrument Insurance
My AFM local has a good deal with a local insurance broker who contracts our instruments coverage to Lloyd's of London. Maybe your AFM local offers something similar?

Re: Instrument Insurance
I have Clarion.
Never had to collect on anything, but they're fairly easy to work with, nice people.
And they supposedly cover earthquakes.

Re: Instrument Insurance
USAA said they wouldn't do it if they were for professional use.

Yeah, last time I asked. They'll do household possessions and some other things, but not if you make money from it.harrisonreed wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 4:46 pmReally? I was up front about mine and bought a policy that protects them against anything for a fixed period of time, barring fraud.

Re: Instrument Insurance
I've seen discrepancies with other general/household insurance providers, where I was told by an agent it didn't matter if they were used professionally or not and would be insured either way, only to be asked later by a different agent at the same company if any of my instruments were used as work tools because then they wouldn't be covered.....

Re: Instrument Insurance
I used Anderson for mine - well respected insurer and a decent price (paid upfront for 3 years) including professional usage. MusicPro Insurance was my second choice. Here’s hoping I never need to find out how easy their claims process is!

Re: Instrument Insurance
Clarion is amazing and affordable. I've got three horns on it, plus my wife's instruments. Its covers quite a bit.

Re: Instrument Insurance
Another for Clarion. Cover everything except maybe leaving on a park bench overnight. Great to work with.
