New case for vintage conn bass

Post by jpconn »

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this has already been covered (1st post on the forum), but I have a Conn 71h bass that needs a new case. Does anyone have any recommendations? I know the 60s-70s basses had slightly longer slides and most modern basses have the standard shorter slides. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Posaunus was good enough to get this started. I have been looking for a replacement for my original Conn case which is completely serviceable but cumbersome and lacking a shoulder strap. On-line info is sadly lacking. I thought someone would surely have done a YouTube vidio but I couldn't find one. Anyone with a Conn 7XH is facing similar issues.

Some expensive gig bags will apparently work for a 71H.
My 71H fits nicely in a Protec MAX bass trombone case. Lightweight, affordable. Apparently it will also fit into a Protec PRO PAC case (heavier) but I haven't tried.
Good luck.

Yes. I can put my 70H in either of my Marcus Bonna cases. The blocks that help keep the slide in place are movable.
