There's a fellow in Japan who has a page with an excellent list. I cannot quite find it right now. Mostly uses characters I cannot read. My phone has 14g on it, so I always get phones with lotsa memory.

Another great recording is Bobby Knight and his great American trombone company. Carl, as well as Frank Rosolino, Charlie Loper, Lew McCreary, and Phil Teele. Some really great playing!

That album is one of the reasons I still play. Got it in sixth grade, was blown away by it!! It was so different than the wind band stuff I which at that point was the only stuff I knew existed.

I just love Carl's playing on Stardust from the GATC album "Cream of the Crop." I've always thought that was the definitive Carl Fontana.



(I was privileged to sub in that band on a gig at Donte's in L.A., where this album was recorded, back when the earth's crust was still cooling.)

That 1975 Donte's gig seems to be his all-time peak. As so many players who knew him, played with him, and others who acknowledge him as best, it's amazing to hear so little influence coming out of other horns.
