Tenor. Not like a Schilke 57.

I got a Yamaha 57 with my 682G. I thought it was like a Bach 4G (and so did Bob Osmun). It's actually a rather odd 4G, but definitely smaller than a Bach 2G (which is about the size of a Schilke 57).

A Yam 48 is a 6 and 1/2-size mpc.
Yam mpcs are smaller than similarly numbered Schilkes. So a Yam 57 is smaller than a Schilke 57.
I suspect it’s similar to a 3G vs 2G: the former is a large tenor and the latter is a small bass.
The 57 doesn’t show up on Yamaha’s trombone mpc charts but presumably is smaller than the 58 which is 26.84 od.

Bach5G, you are guessing, did you ever own one?
. Yam 57 is an old odd piece in a size between a modern Yam 52 and 53, and comparable to a Schilke 52. Definitively tenor.

I actually own a Yamaha 57 mouthpiece. It is an older version (though I'm not sure a newer one was ever produced).
It's definitely a tenor trombone mouthpiece. Cup I.D. ~25.50mm (1.004"); Throat ~6.70mm (0.261").
Perhaps reminiscent of a Bach 5GS, Schilke 51, or an old (small-throat) Schilke 52.
Play it and enjoy it with your large-bore tenor trombone!
