If you look closely, you can see all the giveaways- trapezoidal ferrules, real nickel oversleeves on the slide, trim rings on all tuning slide tubes, the works.
And yet the basis is the (admittedly excellent) 352 student model .500/8" trombone.
Valve section measures at .5285, just a titch under the 3B/F .530 rotor and tubing. The valve of course is very well made- notice the half-mechanical/half-string linkage.
Despite the looks, it's actually in quite good shape- no stocking wear or big dings. Color me surprised. I'll be removing the lacquer and polishing it up, I think!
I haven't had a chance to really use it yet- I'll give it a shot at work and see how it stacks up to my 3B/F. I've had a friend play it already and he liked it quite a lot! First impressions for me is that it blows quite well, with a better valve register than my 3B/F, but more zing all around.
