Bestbrass mouthpieces

After a quick search I don't find any review of a bestbrass mouthpiece in the forum.
Has anyone tried these yet? What would you say about it?

I am testing their mouthpieces right now. Small shank 7d,7c,6c and 6b.

I am very impressed. They feel great.

They seem like quite a skeletonised blank, do they feel particularly lightweight in sound and response? I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the models you were trying out.

I honestly wasn't aware of these until now. In the pic in the post above, they kind of look like the old Al Cass blank shape.

One of the most widely spread mute brand (out of the higher priced offerings) actually. Although there might be better alternatives available today (that had not been available 10 years ago).

Now a short review of the Bestbrass mouthpieces. I had the chance to get my hands on the 6 and 7 series. I don´t know why i didn´t try this pieces before. Maybe because they are rare in Europe .

I tested the 6B,6C,7C and 7D on my medium bore and small bore trombones. To be honest i am very impressed how they feel and play. One point is that the intonation of the naturals really improved with the Bestbrass pieces. The rims feel very comfortable. They are slightly flat. I like it a lot. The sound is warm and centered. High range is very good and easy although with the 6B which has a really deep cup and big bore. In general the pieces/rims feel a bit larger than expected from the specs. But as i mentioned the feel great and it also is very easy to switch between the Bestbrass and my other mouthpieces (Griego,Bach,Yamaha).

They are a bit lighter in weight in comparision f.e. a Bach 6 1/2AL but don´t feel lightweight at all. Most of the weight is around the rim area, so the feeling is very stable and response very nice.

Bestbrass 135gramm / Bach 6 1/2AL 162gramm

If you are looking for pieces in the 6 size range i would highly recommand to give the Bestbrass pieces a try. You could really like them, like i do.

I have decided to keep the 6B and 7C for my playing needs and mouthpiece/instrument combination.

I will list the 6C and 7D soon in the classifieds if anybody is interested.

Best Brass was founded by a Japanese family in 1999. I believe it's still based out of Japan.

Harrisonreed, you're right. Korean money is won, not yen.
