Yes, work well!! Good fit in the bell. Nice even response. Bit heavy (I was used to the plastic ocura mute). Only thing is that it is not advised to store the mute in the bell. I did that with the ocura. When the foam geta to wet (from storage in bell) it tends to slip out…

Re: Bens practice mute?
I got it for contrabass trombone a few weeks ago. Can't really compare directly to other contra mutes. But it's overall well-made, relatively low resistance, relatively pleasant, soft sound, intonation kind of okay. I am considering getting the van Dijk mutes for bass, tenor and alto as well because it might be even better than the Shhh mutes that I am currently using. But I am hesitant right now to spend so much money on practice mutes.

At the moment I‘m using a best brass bass trombone mute modified to allow the air flow like I would have no mute in. I wonder how big is the difference in the air stream between no mute and Ben‘s mute or Rejano‘s. Any experiance?

Better sound and response for me. I really liked the lightness of the Okura though.

Re: Bens practice mute?
These seem more. Sturdier than the Rejano mutes. I have dropped some Rejano mutes and they cracked. These seem to be more durable.
