Re: New Member Introductions
Hello! As a kid, I played the trombone until 10th grade, then did other things ... for 40 years! An overheard conversation at a holiday party led me to dust off my trombone and join a band a few weeks ago. Best thing I've done in a long time!
I've already learned a lot from forum posts here, so I'm making it official.

Hi! I've been perusing the forums for a few years now, only recently joined. I'm a hobby-player. Statistician by day, member of a variety of local community bands by night. Trying to find more opportunities to play my bass bone!

Hello all! I'm a returning player. I started as a music major in college, but wasn't a great performer. At the end of my second year, I BOMBED my jury piece (Blue Bells of Scotland) and was essentially shunned. I switched to Computer Information Systems and have been an IT proessional for many years (40). 4 years to retirement! I kept my High School horn, a King 3B with F attachment. Sold the other ones when I quit music school. I also have an antique Buescher Grand that I haven't opened in 40 years. I wonder what it smells like...? Anyway...I am baaaack and playing with a local community band. Finding other opportunities to do orchestra stuff.
Range, intonation, tone, air ... all difficult to get back!

You were wise to keep your King 3B-F. It should serve you well.
Keep practicing & playing with others!

Re: New Member Introductions
Hello all. I am new to the chat and want to keep up the tradition of new members introducing themselves. I am a music enthusiast playing trombone over 40 years from elementary school through undergrad and I currently play in a community concert band. I recently picked up the baritone horn, and after 5 days of hard work learning fingerings, performed in my first ever Tuba Christmas in NYC. I have an affinity with vintage instruments but my goto horn is a Bach Stradivarius 42B w/F-attachment circa 1970.

Hello, I’m an amateur trombone player. I used to play bass trombone in a wind orchestra, and these days, I play a straight tenor trombone (YSL-697Z) in a big band. I live in Tokyo. This chat is always full of interesting info, and I really enjoy being here

Hello,
My name is Coralie, and I am French. I have been playing the trombone since I was 11 years old (I am 29 now). I am looking for a community of enthusiasts to share my passion. There is no active French forum, so I am coming here.

Hello everyone!
I’m also returning to the trombone after… wow, about 20 years. I spent two years as a trombone performance major at Northern Illinois University before switching majors, but I always promised myself I’d come back to it someday. It took a while—mainly because I’ve finally got my own place after years of apartment living with roommates!
Anyway, I’m really excited to be here and can’t wait to chat and learn from you all!

This is probably the most logical place to make a first post. Hello to all when I become visible.
I can play alright. I have put a lot of time, work and thought into being a good player. I just don't do that now. Now my activity on trombone is very casual/occasional, but my attitude and standards are still "professional".

Re: New Member Introductions
What specific information do you want about trombone mutes or mouthpieces?

There have been numerous and voluminous TromboneChat threads about these topics.

Hey everyone! New member here. I've been playing trombone for a while and love everything about it, whether it's jazz, classical, or just messing around. Looking forward to learning, sharing, and talking shop with fellow trombonists. See you around
