Lou, I really liked that performance and especially your solo! I think it might have something to do with the fact that I grew up on European free jazz and it somehow makes sense to me. I did think the sax solo was a bit 'overboard', despite the audience appreciation. The rhythm section was extremely good.
I once rehearsed with Dave Holland at Kingsbury in the UK when we were very, very young men - late 1950s maybe. Just a mate on alto sax, who was trying to get me interested in playing modern jazz*, Dave and myself on trombone. Even in those days, long before he was discovered, Dave was a ace bass player and my mate and I were way out of our league. Well, I was anyway.
