Does anyone know at leats anything about this student trombone?
Holton TR550
I've searched the whole Internet and there is no info whatsoever.
I only found that it was made by Conn-Selemer I guess after 2000 but it can not be verified either.
I suspect it's a late UMI production and it was made in Taiwan but since there is no information available I can only be guessing. If it's Taiwan I'll skip it.
If it was made in the US I could probably consider it even if it's new and will cost me around $900!
They've got some old stock locally. That's probably why even Conn-Selmer site has no info on them.
The problem: I found that PayPal changed verification rules for our location and I'll have to wait up to a month before they allow me to use my account. I'm not even inclined now to collect all the information they request for verification. It means I cannot buy off the US eBay any longer unless I make a huge effort.
So I can only look now for a trombone locally. And locally we have almost nothing to choose from.
Holton TR550 by Conn Selmer - any good?

Forget about it!
Everything is fine. PayPal quickly did verification of my account with the limited amount of info I provided for them.
It sounded more scary tahn it actually was
Of course they rather need money than loosing their valuable customers.
So, bye bye Holton TR505!

By the way, the only reference to one of these that I found on the Internet was the following auction that ended some time ago:
https://auction.catawiki.com/kavels/233 ... e-trombone
Take a look at picture #4 in the picture line and tell me what you see at the crook of slide and near the crook on the tubing?
That's what I was talking about when sharing my observations on recent Blessing Chinese made horns in another thread. It's very sad that you no longer can buy a new cheap horn that will last.
Rot, rot, rot... Yes, it's red
