I did a lot of looking around when I needed a grip for a new bass trombone. The bullet wouldn't work, based on my horn configuration. I ended up buying from Calderpips Music in the UK (link below). They make the metal "S" grips under hand stitched leather. They custom make each grip in the colors you want. I was really surprised at how quickly it arrived and the quality. No problems with payment or delivery through PayPal.
When you get the grip, you have to adjust/bend it a but to your liking, and again over time, as you get used to it and figure out exactly what you want. I was very happy with the outcome. I recently transferred it to my new bass trombone and it works even better on that horn.
It fits easily to the horn and comes off when putting your horn away, so no storage/fitting problems here. Mine stays attached to the slide when I put it on a stand without having to put it back with each use.
