I am a hobbyist composer and former life-long trombone player. At 66, due to lung problems, I cannot play any longer. I started composing about two years ago. I have written several pieces of which two are Brass Quintets in a romantic style. I am thinking of writing more for brass, perhaps a brass septet.
Am I good enough as a composer to keep trying, or should I just hang it up? Do you like this quintet, hate it, just bleh?
Anyway, here is a link to a sound file. Below will be a link to the sheet music/

The sheet music is available free from the IMSLP website. Here is a link to my composer page. Just select the Brass Quintet in F minor for that sheet music.

Very nice! Nice to listen to, and it seems like it would be nice to play as well.
Keep writing stuff. Doing original tunes is the hardest. I find it hard to get past arrangements.
