His entire horn was custom; a 16m before Bach made a 16m.
At the time Watrous’ horn was put together, Bach didn’t make a straight .508 horn, so the leadpipe certainly wasn’t a stock Bach pipe...

His. I recall it being said that Bill’s personal horn had a more open gooseneck (later added to the standard models) and maybe Sam B talking about Peppinato (sp?) tweaking the 11C Bill played. I kind of wonder if Bach leadpipes were a weak spot in the design.

Bill used a leadpipe maybe a couple inches long. Very open. Something like it is in the production models as well.
