Columbus State University Trombone Choir

At ITF this last summer in Redlands, I heard a great many trombonists. Some of them even played at the same time!

CSU is a hidden (sort of) gem. Most people think of Columbus, GA (if they think of it at all) as the home of Ft. Benning. I spent 3 weeks there going to Airborne school way back in 1983. But at the south end of downtown, CSU has a separate campus for their music school with world class facilities. I went to the STS there a couple of years ago and hope to go back next year as Mr. Alessi will be there. Brad Palmer has created a fantastic studio there. The kid in the video with the beard on bass won a 1 year position in the Vancouver symphony recently.

I followed the link on the video to get a CD of them for a whopping $2! Of course I donated a little more, but still I think will be well worth it.
