I thought I'd just mention it here, since I was there and it's very exciting. Yesterday at the Musik-Akademie Basel was the launch of Mike Svoboda's new book The Techniques of Trombone Playing / Die Spieltechnik der Posaune, written in collaboration with composer Michel Roth and published by Bärenreiter. It is a 146 page book for both trombone players and composers, detailing the techniques used to  play trombone today (from the most basic to the most advanced/extended). Mostly text, with musical examples (in the book plus downloadable audio files). Side-by-side German and English.
