I recently picked up a Shure 98H from a local guy in town for half price, nearly brand new. I thought about doing a full wireless setup with it, and here's my thoughts; A word of caution, this is my first dive into the microphone world, so I'm very new to all of this.

Shure 98H plug into a female 3 pin connector to 1/4" adapter, seen here: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/STX102F

Then plugging that into the Shure PGXD1 pack: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/shure-pgxd1-digital-wireless-bodypack-transmitter

And then setting that up with the Shure PGXD4 Digital Diversity Receiver: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/shure-pgxd4-digital-diversity-receiver

I saw the combination pack on Musician's Friend that included the WA302 cable, but they said on their website that you would have to do some splicing of the cables? I'm trying not to do any alterations, that's why I found the 3 pin to 1/4" cable.

Let me know if this sounds like a solid setup, or how you would do it differently! I already have the 98H, I just really do not want to have to alter things to make them work, I'd rather it all work out of the box, annoying as that may be. Thanks and Happy Holidays!

The transmitter/bodypack does not accept a 1/4" cable.  It has a proprietary 4pin shure connector.  The Beta WB98HC is the microphone that works with the Shure wireless systems. The receiver then connects to an audio console via 1/4" or xlr connector.  The beta 98 with an xlr connector is not able to be used as a wireless system.

My bad, I just went back and watched the Shure wireless setup video on youtube, and I thought the 1/4" connector plugged into the transmitter/bodypack, and it does not. From what I can understand from this and another forum post, I should be able to take this to a sound person with some knowhow, and create a female XLR to 4 pin bodypack connector, and that will work? Thank you for your help!

I would go for the whole setup if I didn't already have a Beta 98H with XLR connector. But that adaptor seems like it would do the trick perfectly! Thank you so much!

The excess wire of the adapter will drive you crazy. All the more to get tangled in.

I thought the exact same thing. I thought about seeing if I knew any sound engineers who could shorten up the cables for me.
