Cany anyone recommend any video editing software that is more full featured than the free Windows Movie Maker, but not too complicated to use? I mostly use it to turn footage from my camcorder into short videos for FB, etc.

And I don't have a Mac, so Imovie is not an option.

I use a video editor from Avidemux. I can't remember if it's free-ware or you have to purchase it.

It does for me exactly what you stated you want.

If there is a video on YouTube or FB I want to download, I do a video screen/audio capture and then edit it with the above tool. It's pretty easy.

Avidemux is pretty straightforward.  Not fancy, but entirely adequate if all you need to do is cut together some clips.

OpenShot has more features and a less utilitarian interface.

Blender is another option; way more tools than you're likely to ever need (the video editor is actually just one component of the system).

All three are open source.

Also, if you need to do things like adjusting the resolution (say, from 1080p down to 480p) or converting file formats, Handbrake is pretty useful (and open source).
