what is the correct size for a Conn 3B bass trombone mouthpiece

Post by tim »

I've seen they are similar to a 2G, then 2 or 3 posts later similar to a 1 1/2G. :idk: Which is it, for sure? You guys are a lot smarter than me regarding these things.

I have a Connstellation 3B that was supplied (I believe) with a Conn 71H Bass Trombone.
My measurements: Cup I.D. ~27.10mm (1.067") Throat 7.49mm (0.295"); V-shaped Cup; "Remington" tapered Shank.
Definitely bigger than a Bach 2G. Slightly larger Rim; larger Throat; deeper and more V-shaped Cup than a Bach 1½G. Suitable for a Conn bass trombone with "Remington" taper receiver. (Great match for my 71H!)
