Trombone ensemble with vocalist

Post by SGlong »

Greetings, all
My group consists of six trombones with piano/guitar, bass and drums, and we just added a vocalist. Our music is mostly in the style of big band swing from the 30's and 40's.
Does anybody here have or know anybody that has any charts for a group like this that include a mezzo soprano singer? We have some, but we are in need of more.
Thank you for any input.

Suggestion:

Find Big Band "stocks" of the period. Use 1st (alto), 2nd (tenor), 3rd (Alto) sax parts, trumpet 1 and 2, and trombone 1. Remember that the alto sax parts should be read as bass clef and put up an octave. Trumpet and tenor parts should be read as tenor clef. Alternate would be to use trumpet 1, trombone 1, and have a bass or contra play the string bass part to give you some rhythm support.

Good luck.
