Trombone solo with strings and rhythm section

Post by tbdana »

Hi. I'm looking to do a solo concert with strings and rhythm section, and I need material. Carol Jarvis has a couple nice arrangements like "I Think Of You"

and "In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning"

But I need to put together a good 90 minutes of music. Anyone know of other charts that are available with similar orchestration?

She did a small conference nearby that I attended a few years ago. She had 4-5 tunes in a row for that instrumentation, but I think 90% of it was slow ballads, as you heard in your Youtube links. Nice stuff, but all pretty much the same.

Here is some nice stuff that could fit. and some great playing by Ludwig Nuss.

No idea who did the arrangements, maybe it's somewhere in the video. I could potentially connect you with Ludwig if that helps.

Check out Carol's website she has some other arrangements listed there.

Also, ezjazzlines.com has the Charlie parker with string charts as well. You might be able to use some of those with some adaptation of the solo voice.
