New solo sackbut album

I'm delighted to announce the release of my new solo album Scorrete lagrime mie, which explores the vocal virtuosity of the baroque trombone through early-17th-century Italian music, most of it vocal monodies and pieces of diminutions, but also a couple of instrumental pieces and three of my own compositions (including a brand new sonata for trombone and basso continuo!). I play together with either harpsichord or organ, and sometimes both, played by Christophe Gauthier and Luc Beauséjour. You can stream the whole album on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon, YouTube, etc:

And here are two tracks in particular I would like to share with you, that illustrate well what I was trying to do with this album.

Beautiful sound. very well balanced, sometimes it`s hard to hear the accompaniment.

Thank you! We had a good engineer! But yeah not always easy to get the balance right. We did spend about four times longer than scheduled on soundcheck, to find the best position for the organ and harpsichord. The trade-off is of course that you end up with two or three tracks where you wish you had had time for a few extra takes...

Thank you Dana! I'm really happy you noticed the air control, because that's what I have identified as maybe the top technical element that can really unlock musicality, and that's probably what I had worked to improve the most in the two or three years before I recorded this album.

Nice! Is it possible to buy a download of the album as I'm not so much into streaming and I consider giving it as a gift to someone. Something like bandcamp or e-classical would be nice.

It's published by a proper label and distributed by Naxos, so one can buy or order an actual physical CD at most brick-and-mortar or online music shops. Some online shops probably also offer download options. I'm not sure if it's available there, but in general for downloads I prefer and recommend Qobuz. Usually a dollar or two more than downloading on Amazon, but you get lossless high-quality files (even better-than-CD quality) instead of compressed MP3s, and for most albums you also get the digital booklet (the lack of booklets and liner notes is IMO one of the saddest part about the shift to streaming).
