Mic for iPhone?
What’s a decent mic for iPhone that lets a trombone sound like a trombone? Like a wireless lavalier or something I’m guessing? Or is there some other kind folks use? There are a million on Amazon for cheap, all Chinese I’m sure. What’s going to sound like a bone and be $100 or less?

I've known a few people to recommend these:

But I've never used it myself.

The iQ6 that Matt linked might be a better option, but I have a USB-C version of the RØDE VideoMic Me (https://rode.com/en-us/microphones/mobile/videomic-me-c) I'm not using, if you'd like to try that. It has been sitting on my shelf since I picked up an H6.

AND connect to your iPhone? Not much. But if you already had a good mic:tbdana wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 2:46 pm What’s a decent mic for iPhone that lets a trombone sound like a trombone? Recording trombone in a natural way usually requires a good room, and either a good condenser (Omni pattern is usually best) or a ribbon mic.

Be careful, not all apps on the iPhone work properly with external sound cards/microphones.
The Skype app, for example, does not (even if the microphone is correctly recognized by iOS).
