Seeking advice or insights regarding leadpipe selection for the Conn SL2547 dual bore slide, or similar setups. I’ve been experimenting with the H, T, and X leadpipes, but haven’t yet found one that feels quite ideal.

I primarily play in a local wind ensemble and find that my Conn 88H with the dual bore slide blends well with the group. However, I’m still trying to optimize my setup in terms of sound quality, response, and intonation.
-The T pipe provides a focused sound and facilitates the upper register, but I’ve noticed that my small shank mouthpiece inserts quite far into the pipe, resulting in flat intonation, even with the tuning slide fully closed.
-The H pipe is currently my preferred option, offering a broader sound and improved intonation since the mouthpiece doesn’t insert as deeply. However, I wonder if there’s a better balance to be found.
-The X pipe, designed for large bore mouthpieces, seems to introduce some loss of focus in the sound and requires noticeably more effort to play.

Has anyone else encountered similar experiences with this slide and leadpipe combination? I’d appreciate any insights or recommendation you can provide.

I prefer the H pipe, too. That's the one the slide came with, and after a couple of weeks, I thought I should try the other ones, too. I tried them both and went back to the H.
