John Swana Valve Trombone Transcriptions

Post by pbone3b »

I transcribed a couple of John Swana's valve trombone solos that I found on youtube.
I have them up on my website, each with the video, and a link to the pdf of the transcription.

He's a brilliant player, and these solos really inspired me. I hope someone here may enjoy them too.

Yes! Thank you for sharing! Not only is John a brilliant musician in every aspect, he is also one of the friendliest people around. We are lucky to have him here in Philly.

He's also been out playing trumpet again, and he sounds just as god as ever. Besides that, he is an absolute monster EVI player, and if you haven't heard him play that, you should.

Here's a tune where he uses EVI. Solo around the 3 minute mark.
